Plastic Profiling Chairs
The ICS Co-Polymer Polypropylene (PP) Plastic profiling chair system is a fully integrated and purpose-built profiling apparatus designed for use in bonded Post Tension projects.
The plastic chair is manufactured in a controlled environment using a temperature-controlled plastic injection machine with moulding system.
The product is fully compatible with the ICS flat ducting system, which along with other components forms part of the bonded flat slab mono-strand system. The chair comes with a profile marking reference on each leg showing the bar chair height in mm to ensure correct profiling is carried out during both installation and inspection. This reduces the chance of human error when comparing to the conventional steel bar chair that has to be inspected the traditional way with measuring instruments.
The design principle of the PP plastic chair is to ensure the structural integrity of the profiled tendon while simplifying the installation and inspection process. The chair is designed with a 70x20mm (43mm also available) clip-on head which secures directly into ducting without any manual tying requirements. The clip-on head also offers stability and housing to the downsized duct dimensions of 43mm and 50mm as the clip-on heads ensure the duct will not deviate beyond the horizontal profile it rests upon.
Plastic Bar chairs come in two sizes to fit 43mm duct or 70mm duct and height range from 30mm to 300mm.
Advantages Of Using ICS's Plastic Bar Chairs
Installation:
Less manual handling due to clip-on system and visual profiling reference.
Inspection:
Visual inspections carried out faster and more accurately due to the profile marking reference on each leg showing the bar chair height in mm.
Superior Slab Soffit Finish:
PP plastic chairs are manufactured in a dry grey matt colour, to ensure a camouflaged finish to any exposed soffits.
No Concrete Erosion:
The all plastic product ensures no concrete erosion due to the elimination of steel products rusting.
Additional Horizontal Brace:
Chairs 160mm and above come with an additional horizontal brace between the two legs of the chairs, for added strength.
